Your daddy sent you to visit me when you were just 10, overnight from LA, and you arrived so early in Orlando, where I was giving a laser course. You slept through the course,and we spent 3 wonderful (HOT) days at Disney, at The Swan hotel 2 days, and one at the Dolphin (you wanted to try both!) Then you accompanied me to visit my physician clients, where you just had to come into the OR with us to see everything, and told me and one of my colleagues that you needed to see surgery because you "wanted to become a vet, for animals that other people didn't think were cute." That was you, all the way, Maren, with that wonderful tender heart. You accompanied me to congresses in 2 states, and learned to live in hotels, ordering our room service, putting out our shoes at night to be polished, sending out our dry cleaning and laundry, making sure we had the double sheets (over our blankets) for a european-style bed. We saw the Olympic torch carried by Dan Marino down Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale, and you got yourself a true Florida tan, swimming every free day. That month was a gift from your father that I will never forget, and you stay in my heart. I love you, Maren. See you in the sparkle zone.
